Q: 2001 honda accord EX winter performance?
I recently bought a 2001 honda accord ex. With winter coming I am wondering how it will perform in the snow, as I live in an area where winter can be severe. thanks!

Q: What are the best component speakers for a 2001 Honda Accord EX 6-Speaker?
Actually what I'm trying to do is simply replace just the two 6&1/2inch speakers in the front doors. I already have a sub woofer so I don't need base, I'm really looking for more of the foreground sound so as to balance out the base and the rest of the song. What would be the best quality speakers I can buy for that application?
PS: I could have just as easily gone to crutchfield to find the answer but I want a professional opinion.
A: Any 3way speakers with a descent amount (say 50 RMS watts or above) watts should do the trick. Since you already got a subwoofer then turn the bass down on the regular speakers. That way when you crank it, it wont start getting distorted from the bass. Just adjust the EQ for mostly mid and high.
Crutchfield is my favorite website for reference. I bought a system and got some a free dash kit, so it turned out cheaper even with shipping.

Q: 2001 honda accord ex oil? What type of oil does it take?
ex
A: Look in the owners manual for an OEM replacement.
Depends on what kind of weather and driving you use it for too. If you live in colder weather go with a lighter weight oil like 5W-30. If you race it, go synthetic oil. If you live in warmer weather go with a heavier oil like 10W-30.
Q: I have a 2001 Honda accord ex. On my way home from work today, it decided to act crazy.?
I was driving along and the radio stopped, the maint required light flashed several times and the gages went haywire. It did this over and over again until I stopped the car. I then got out to go pick up my daughter from daycare and when I came back to the car, the remote wouldn't unlock the doors. Then the car wouldn't even start. I called my husband (complaining, let me tell you) and after a few minutes I tried to start it again and it started right up and I didn't have any problems with it again the whole way home. WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON??
Thank you in advance!
A: could be a cell dieing in the battery on the car. and although its not very common the diodes in the alternator could be bad and its feeding a/c power to the computer that causes things like that

Q: Is 2001 Honda Accord EX V6 2doors coupe 60,000 miles, Asking price is $8500 a good deal?
the car fax checks out great, not a lemon, never been in wrecked, etc. It's a clean carfax
A: You have to ask to see the title.
This car should sell for around 10K so see if it has a salvage/reconstructed title. If it does, it is worth around $6K. Now, if you still like the car and can get it for around $6K it's a good deal, PROVIDED you run a Carfax, the car is titled locally and is current and you can do a pre-purchase inspection by a reliable mechanic. If it checks out ok (no frame damage, and it wasn't in a flood) it could be a fine purchase - don't believe the naysayers that tell to NEVER buy salvage car ever.
I have purchased two salvage/reconstructed cars and have saved thousands and the cars have been totally trouble-free. You have to be careful, though and since resale value is low, you will want to drive the car til it dies.
Now, if the car has a CLEAN title and passes a pre-purchase inspection you have great deal and should buy it!
Q: I have a 2001 Honda Accord EX and my heater will not blow hot air, just cool air at different speeds.?
It started after I got in it one day and the passenger side floor board was soaked from water. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Pete
A: there are several possibilities. Using your description of the passenger floor being soaked with 'water', the first possibility is that the heater core ruptured. the heater core is a small radiator that is located under the right side of the instrument panel. the coolant circulates through the heater core and air is blown over the core when the temperature is set to HOT. so, if the heater core is leaking then there isn't coolant flowing through the core and the radiator isn't getting hot. To check this possibility, check under the carpet on that side. if it is coolant that is leaking from the core, the liquid will feel oily.
A more likely possibility is that it really is water that is on the floor. If that is the case then the problem is that the drail tube for the air conditioning evaporator is clogged. What then happens is that the condensation that forms on the cool evaporator coils does not run out of the drain tube but rather it fills the evaporator case with water. that case is common to the heater core and if the heater core is submerged in water then the heat from the coolant will not be transferred to the air. that is pulled into the car. the reason the floor gets wet is that the condensation keeps forming but the water has no where to go so it spills out onto the floor. usually you'll hear a sloshing noise from the right side on turns when this is the case but if the case if full you won't hear it. This is my best guess as to what is happening. the fix is eaxy--just get the drain tube cleaned out. Any shop can blow compressed air up the tube from under the car to clear it of debris. I'll bet on this as the cause.
third, would be that the coolant level in the radiator is very low. without coolant to circulate, there is no heat.
fourth is a thermostat that is not opening, but when that happens your engine would run Hot. I assume that is not happening.
lastly, the temperature control knob may be stripped. if that's the case, you think you are turning the temp control to hot but the knob isn't turning the control. you can usually pull off the knob to ckeck if the base is cracked.
so, if it really is water on the floor and not coolant, then get the drain tube cleaned and I bet you'll have heat again. if its not water, look to a leaking heater core. then look to the other possibilites from there down
hope that helps
