Q: The backlights in the center panel of my 2004 Honda Accord EX went out. Does that just mean the fuse blew?
The backlights I am referring to are on the center panel where all the controls to the stereo and air conditioning are.
A: if they are all out, you would be right by checking the fuse. i have never seen all the dash lights burn out at once.
Q: my moonroof button on my 2004 honda accord ex doe's not light up anymore. what could be the problem?
My car is a 2004 honda accord ex with the i-vtec 4 cylinder engine. All the other lights in the interior work except the moonroof button.
A: could be a bad bulb. Is it still under warranty? Shouldn't be too big a problem. good luck.
Q: Should I buy a 2006 Chevy Impala LT or a 2004 Honda Accord EX?
People said that Hondas and Chevys are good cars. I really dont want to spend any more than $15,000. I have a 2 year old daughter and I have to commute back and forth to school so I want a very reliable car that wont break down after 2 years and something that gets decent gas mileage. I just want a car thats worth buying and keeping. HELP ME!
A: the 2008 Impala is a fine car but the 06 has many problems
it is rated below average and is not recommended.
the Honda Accord is a fine car
an if it has been properly maintained will last for years.
be sure to have it inspected by a mechanic.

Q: Issues with a Honda Accord EX 2004 I want to buy..are these a big deal?

I recently found a very clean second-hand Accord EX 2004, full options, Auto and Leather. I took it to the Honda Dealership for inspection, the mechanic at Honda told me there were the following issues:
1. AC Condenser had a dent (didn't look big to me) probably caused by a stone/rock, they told me the whole part needed to be changed costing $790 saying they never know when it will cause the AC to fail
2. Tie Rod Arm has been changed but is ok
3. Rust on brakes, but brakes work fine
4. Leakage in the CV Boot
5. Wipers didnt work, so the selling dealership fixed the motor and regulator for the wipers.
Other than that everything looked ok, some parts in car have minor corrosions because of the snow in NJ
My question is: What do you think of the car, are these problems major ones?

Thank you man, its for $14,000. I checked its carfax, no accidents, one owner, it was a leased car from Honda
A: All of those "problems" are normal, it happens and they are definately not any major problems
what I would do is get a carfax.com ( you need the VIN NUMBER ) and check out the history on the car, when/why it was taken to a mechanic/ accidents/ any problems with the car
Another thing is everytime you take your car to a mechanic they are trying to get YouR money, So they look at everything possible and turn it in to a big situation trust me I used to be a mechanic.
I am not sure where they got the estimate of $790 becuase the part is only $100.00-$120.00 and labor would not be alot you can even do it or a friend could. ( when you buy the part it is easy to install and comes with detailed instructions ) BUT AGAIN..that ac condenser is not a problem at all, they just want you to buy something from them.
Sounds like a good car to me but i would advise you to get carfax report

Q: Would you buy a 2004 Honda Accord EX sedan with 54k miles?
The car is in perfect condition and fully loaded. I don't know anything about Honda vehicles...can any of you who know about this car or Hondas in general, give me some advice? The car looks nice but I want it to last at least 60k more miles with no-to-little problems.
A: Yes!!! Without a doubt.
The Accord, as with all Honda vehicles have a reputation for reliability and economy. I previously owned a 1992 Accord that I sold recently with over 220,000 miles. The new owner only wanted to know that I had completed the necessary maintenance, oil changes, transmission fluid changes, valve adjustments, tune ups, etc.
Buy this car but ask that the maintenance records be provided.

it makes a loud high pitched noise when i put the car in reverse. would that be because my rear brake pads are almost wearing out, or is it something else?
A: It can be the front or rear brake pads. The rear brake pads last about 2/3 of the life of the front because they start out thinner because of the parking brake.
if you do the rear brakes yourself you'll need a special tool or very wide flat chisel to turn the caliper piston back into the caliper. The front caliper pistons just push back in with a big pair of channel locks.
to be honest, its tough to tell from inside of the car if the noise if its front or rear brakes, but it is definitely the wear sensors on the brakes telling you its time to replace the pads. Unfortunately you have to take the pads off to see which ones are worn as the wear sensors are on the inside pads.
you might make it easier by having someone walk next to the car as you back up to isolate the nosie between front and rear but its always good to check both front and rear anyway.

A: No matter what you do it is still a boring Honda Accord. I know Honda makes good quality cars, but they are all boring. The civic si is ok, but the accord even with the v6 is still a unexciting car.

A: If you are unsure about this unit, I'd leave it to the pros.
For the most part it's a simple hook up, even the key less part.
But that vehicle has a factory alarm system that needs to be tapped into.
It also has a transponder unit as a factory security, therefore you'll need a transponder bypass kit. They make 2 kinds either the conventional that you'll need to install a spare key in the box or a programmable bypass kit.
This need to be installed to fool your cars ignition.

My air conditioner smell musty when I turn it on.
A: open the glove box... all the way... you'll have to depress the stops on th sides to get it all the way open. let it hang down. behind it you will see the end of the filter. pull it out, put the new one in paying attention to which direction it goes in (the filter will say on it's side which direction the air should flow.

A: Semi metallic replaced some.
Ceramic are fitted to high end sports cars.
Organic make huge amount of dust.
