Q: I have a 2005 Honda Accord LX V6 with 60k miles that makes a whining noise when I am in reverse?
The noise never occurs in drive. When I am reversing the noise still continues even if I remove my foot from the brake pedal and press the acceleration pedal. Furthermore, the tone of the whining changes as apply pressure to the brake pedal. Any information would be quite helpful. This vehicle has not had any previous problems. The vehicle has automatic transmission.

A: This is a normal sound. The reverse gears are not helical like your forward gears, so they make noise when in reverse. It's fine :)

Q: How Do I Remove The Door Panels on a 2005 Honda Accord LX?
I bought new speakers but i cant seem to remove the front door panels...

A: door panels usually have from 3 to 5 screws everything else is just clipped on so look for any screws that you might be able to see sometimes you have to remove the piece of plastic on the door to get to one under it then slowly pull off the panel start from the bottom up and good luck

Q: How do i refill my A/C for my 2005 Honda Accord LX 2.4? What do I need to buy and how much?
My dad told me to go get freon but I am not sure which type and what equipment I need.

A: Go to the parts store and get a repair manual and a can of leak tracer. Now read the manual and it will tell you where and how to add your tracer where ever it is leaking it will show up red you cant miss it. Now it will tell you how what kind of oil to add there are 2 different kinds such as mineral oil and pag oil and it does make a difference which one you use. It will also tell you how much R134 to add most take about a pound some take less some take a little more like the car I have it takes a pound and a half but you get the picture. Just read your manual and it will tell you what you need to know if it looks like to much for you to handle yourself take it to a mechanic

Q: Am I the only one thinking Honda 2005 Accord LX has the most uncomfortable seats ever? How do I replace them?
The seats are giving me back pain! How/where should I replace them with reasonable costs? Will the replacement affect the resale value of the car?

A: You have a couple of options. You can upgrade the seats - there are dozens of companies that make replacement seats. If you get some good ones, they can increase the resale value. You do have a cheaper option though, since seats would be pretty expensive - plus if you don't know what you are doing, you would have to pay someone else to install them. Instead - there are several different kinds of backpads, seat covers, etc. some of which have inflatable lumbar support, - some even have heat or back massagers built in. You might also want to keep in mind the position that your seat is in - if it is leaning back too far then you might have to lean forward to reach the steering wheel. And there is always the possibility that you need to do some exercises - especially some that focus on your back and abdominals (weak abs can put extra stress on your back).

Q: Cold Air Intake assistance for 2005 Honda accord LX?
My Cold air intake did not come with a mass air flow sensor adapter is it suppose to be like that? Tried installing did not rev past 3000 rpm, What do I do now.

A: Like I have already advised you to do: Ditch the intake. Go back, and return it, and get your money back. Obviously, you did no research, before buying this thing. An intake will, at BEST, provide around 2-3 horsepower. At worst, you will LOSE horsepower at certain rpm. And contrary to belief, 2-3 horsepower change is not noticeable by a driver. You could get the same gain, by getting a tuneup done. Get your money back, save your money for something useful.

Q: What is the value of a 2005 Honda Accord lx?

A: $11,875 for that Accord LX.

Q: Is this too good to be true? A 2nd hand 2005 Honda Accord LX for only $6, 800.?
My family really want to buy a 2nd hand honda or toyota that is cheap. And this seems like what we've been wanting. But we have a feeling that it's just a bit too good to be true. Do you think so. A 2005 Honda Accord LX for only "$6, 800" That's crazy cheap. I saw this ad online. We told them our phone number by e-mail. Could this person be evil. Here's the paragraph that the person wrote: This vehicle is in great shape has 41000 miles and was well cared for by its previous owner. Options include Cruise control, ABS, Alloy rims, Power windows and Locks, A-C,cloth interior and much much more. We have completely inspected this vehicle inside and out with our local mechanic. It is in good solid mechanical condition. It also has been completely detailed inside and out. The exterior paint looks excellent with no damage. The interior is in good shape with no signs of any damage or wear and tear.Clean Car Fax and title. " Theres more but I can't post all of it. Should we trust it? It's ad online. Im pretty sure it's a private. Not a company. Just someone selling it themselves. Wat the hell does salvage mean. I dont understand the dictionary's meaning. ??????????????

A: Yes, it sounds too good to be true. I am guessing there is either a typo (ie, it should read, $16,800, not $6,800) or it's stolen or it's a salvage title. I know the ad says 'clean CarFax and title' but if it's a salvage title the seller may be stretching the truth. Usually a car is given a salvage title when the insurance company that insured it has decided that making repairs to it after an accident (or flood) would cost more than the vehicle is worth in good condition. But some people will take a car with a salvage title and make cheap cosmetic repairs and then try to sell it for a profit. If you see the title and it's clean, I would still take it to a mechanic before buying. D

Q: CD player acting upon 2005 Honda Accord LX?
I have a 2005 Honda Accord. I have six 6 inside of my CD dashboard. All of a sudden my CD player no longer works. The dash LOOKS like I have no CDs in the dash (even though I do) and I can't even access the CD player at all. Any help on how to reset this and correct the problem would be helpful. Thanks

A: First, make sure you have the radio's anti-theft code. Then disconnect both of the battery cables (negative [black] first and then positive [red] next) from the battery. Then take the metal ends of the cables and hold them together for at least 30 seconds. Then reconnect the cables (positive [red] first and then negative [black]). Turn the radio back on and you should then have to input the radio's anti-theft codes. (If it doesn't make you input the code, try holding the cable ends together for a minute). Once the radio is unlocked, try using the cd changer. If it still doesn't work, you'll most likely have to replace it.

Q: Will Nail Polish remove paint from a 2005 Honda Accord LX?
What about a 1999 Chevy Prizm?

A: No. Nail polish is made from acetone and therefore will not dissolve automotive paint. You will need to determine what kind of paint it is and buy the appropriate thinner. Automotive paint is usually an enamel or acrylic so a thinner of those types will do the trick. Say, are you looking to mar someone's paint job by any chance? If so, use brake fluid. That'll eat through anything.

Q: 2005 Honda Accord LX 70000KM $9999 CAD?
I am looking for a used car. I was at at a used car dealer today and saw a 2005 honda accord with 70000KM. the dealer said the final price on the car is $9999 Canadian Dollars. this price is $2000-3000 under market value. could anything be wrong with the car. i checked all the history reports they say it has had no accidents. but how do i check if the dealer has replaced some of the parts with blackmarket parts. i have till saturday to finalize the deal. please advise

A: The car was probably a fleet vehicle with that many kilometers (ie. it has been run hard). Or some kind of work car. As for blackmarket parts, just ask the guy for a test drive, go to a far away shop, ask for a full inspection (pay like 70$ max). Point out your fear for blackmarket parts. Other advice: If the guy looks sketchy, he probably is.

Q: when i turn on my 2005 honda accord lx in the morning the maitnence required light blinks like four times.....?
ohhh and just to let yu knoe it shakes a little bit what should i do or what is wrong with it?

A: The maintenance required light comes on at predetermined intervals to remind you that a scheduled service is coming due. On the 4 cylinder Accord, the maintenance interval for that year was for oil changes every 5000 miles. The maintenance light startes to blink about 500 miles before the service is due based on the elapsed mileage from the last time the light was reset. As you get closer to the 5000 miles being elapsed the light will stay on constantly. so basically its telling you that you are nearing the time to get a scheduled service done on your car. you can shut the light off if you've already had the service done. to do so, start by putting the igntiion key in the ignition but do not turn it on. then, with your left hand, hold in the button for the trip/reset for the odometer. (that button is at the bottom of your speedometer.) while holding the button in, turn the ignition key to the ON position with your other hand. continue to hold the trip/reset button in until the maintenance light goes out. it will take between 10-15 seconds for it to go out. when the light goes out, continue to hold the trip/reset button in and turn the ignition key OFF. then you can release the button. the maintenance light will be reset for another 5000 miles. you didn't say what the mileage is on the car. the service schedule can be found in your owner's manual. the shaking may be due to a normal maintenaance item such as a dirty air filter or it could be someihing unrelated. Mention it to the mechanic that you take the car to so that they can check the motor mounts and other possible causes. hope that helps

Q: 2005 Honda Accord LX 4cyl is creeking?
I hear a creaking sound when i turn sharply, usually when im backing up or turning into my driveway. Why is this happening? Should I be worried about this? Thanks

A: Tie rod end, ball joint, etc... Yes, have it checked out. At first those things are just noisy but if you let it go for a long time they can pop out of joint (very bad).

Q: 2005 Honda Accord LX 4 cyl. automatic GAS TANK!?
Hello, ok, i searched the internet and it says that my honda accord has a 17.1 gallon fuel tank. Well, yesterday, my refuel gas light came on and I immediately pulled over to refuel. I pumped it up to 12.8 gallons gas started to spill out of the tank so I stopped. So does that mean I still have over 4 gallons of gas left in my tank when the refuel light comes on? 4 gallons, that's another 112 highway miles that I can still travel with the light on correct? (although i won't do it).

A: One would think; however, I drive a '03 Civic and has driven pretty far with the gas light. The most I've ever filled up was 11.2 and the Civic spec for the tank is 13+. Go figure.

Q: 2005 Honda Accord LX (4 cyl) makes scraping noise?
I bought it last year and within 3 months, it started making whistleing sound whenever I applied gas but again this was not consistent. I took it to couple fo dealers couple of times but I could not reproduce the problem. Now my car is almost 1 year old and now I hear some kind of scraping noise from my car. It happens when I reach some speed (about 50 mph) and has nothing to do with applying gas or taking the foot of the gas pedal or applying brakes. It normally goes off when I slow down. The sound is almost like some metal is scraping against other metal part. Any ideas? ANybody has similar experience? I tried sqitching off the AC and radio and the noise still does not stop. Also, the car does not make noise when I am stopped at a traffic light. I have always noticed it in the morning while going to work.

A: Is your AC on? *edit* about the comment below about the timing belt. I highly doubt it, or else the car is SCREWED. one, belts run along a single path, and at very high speeds. if the belt is "scrapping" against something, that means it is either off its track or has a giant piece sticking out. In either case, the result will present itself pretty fast: A jacked up engine that will cost thousands to fix. Since your car is still going after 3 months, i say the timing belt is NOT the problem. Does the car make the noise when it is cold and goes away when warmed up? may be carbon build up in the engine. it could be a dirty valve somewhere (and there are tons of valves, not necessarily the engine valves) scrapping along the housing as it opens/closes. check your air intake valve. it's decently easy to get to and look at. and look at your throttle valve. look up any valve that is easy to get to and peek at it.
