Q: Where is the knock sensor located on a 2006 Honda Accord EX?
My engine light came on and the code comes up as P0325 and I purchased a new knock sensor but I have no idea where it is located so that I can replace it, and I don't have the money to go to a shop...any help with this would be greatly appreciated. I know what the knock sensor looks like but i don't know where to locate it on the engine block itself.

A: A knock sensor is always located on the engine block, that is how it senses the knock, here is a picture of it http://www.partsgeek.com/mmparts/knock_sensor/honda/accord.html hope this helps you sometimes it might be in the head, but it;s directly screwed into these parts

Q: How do you replace the interior ceiling spotlight bulbs on 2006 honda accord ex?

Q: Can I buy a Honda Navigation system for my 2006 Accord EX?
I just recently bought an '06 Honda Accord Sedan EX V-6 6-Spd MT w/ XM Radio. The dealership did not have any with the navigation system, but I was wondering if I could replace the center console with one that includes the navigation system? If this can be done, how much would this cost (parts and installation)? Has anyone done this? I assume the $2,000 price difference would have been a better option, but unfortinantly that couldn't happen at the time. Thanks, I appreciate the help.

A: i dont belive that u can do this as u would need to replace the entire dash wiriing harnes and all with the correct one....way to expensive for what its worth!

Q: What is meant by B 1 diagnostic Indicator in Honda Accord EX 2006?
Hello I have a Honda Accord EX L 2006. Bought last year november. It has 9200 miles on it. Couple of days before, it started showing a Maintainence Diagnostic indicator with the Code 'B 1'. I need to know the following 1. What doest it mean? 2. Do i have spend much on fixing it? How much a dealer would charge? 3. What are all the services the dealer will perform for 'B 1'? 4. Does honda accord EX show this once in every 10k miles approx? 5. Is it very critical? Appreciate it Thanks in advance Casinoroyale

A: It is just the service reminder and it is due for what is called a "minor service" 4 cylinder engine will come on every 10,000 miles V-6 engine will come on every 7,500 miles At my dealer it is $99.95 for the minor service which also includes oil and filter change and tire rotation. We also inspect and adjust the brakes along with lubrication of all window channels and full vehicle inspection. I think it would be advisable to bring it to your local dealer for this service as it gives them a chance to inspect the car while it is under warranty for other potential issues. B.T.W. As per the manual in severe service intervals you should actually replace the oil and filter every 5,000 miles and then do the next sequential service every 10,000 miles. Basicly service every 10k with an oil change in between

Q: What is the best engine oil to put in my 2006 Honda Accord Ex 4 cylnider?

A: It's a Honda so don't put any oil in it at all. Just kidding. Use the manufacturer's recommended weight (which is probably 5W-30) but next time use synthetic oil. You will free up a couple of horses and you won't have to change the oil as often as with standard oil. Synthetic motor oil can now go up to 15,000 miles!

Q: How can a cylinder head be bent on a 2006 Honda Accord EX - V6 manual transmission?
Recently my check eng. light came on - my dealership cleared it and said some software needed updated. It came on again a day later & car would not start. Same dealership Earnhardt Honda in AZ cleared it - said it was the alarm. A week later I drove to San Diego and it came on again. I took to Tipton Honda - they did diagnostics and said that in a leak down test they found that a cylinder was bent and sent it away for repairs. Bill is over $2500 and Honda America says that it is not going to be covered under Warranty. They say the ONLY way to bend a cylinder is from bad shifting (over shifting or down shifting). I am 33 year old female - not an 18 year old boy out drag racing! I have ALWAYS driven a stick shift - and I have never red-lined my car. Any ideas on what I can use to argue my defense? They could not pull up the freeze data on the car either...which should have helped me. Thanks! I spoke w/a regional mgr from Honda America today - the dealership that is fixing my car sent them the freeze data from my car - it showed that I was going 4 mph (that's right four miles per hour) and that the engine was at 1400 RPM. All normal. They ruled out a timing belt issue, ruled out Cam Shaft issue, and are defaulting to driver shifting error to explain the bent cylinder...even though the freeze data showed I was not driving the car improperly. They still expect me to pay. I told them to send everything to me in writing I am going to get a lawyer. Has anyone else had this type of issue? I just can't belive this!

A: Ask them for a copy to be sent to your attorney! That might help change their minds. If your car is under warranty. Tell them you want proof that the engine could not overheat because of a defect, rather than abuse. You want it in writing.

Q: 2006 Honda Accord Ex Coupe?
I'm interested in a 2006 Honda Accord Ex V6 Coupe...Is it a good buy? And what are the common problems with them? And whats the average mpg? :]

A: yes get it. what l like about the 06 accord is the 4 wheel disc brakes and the 17" alloy wheels and the dual exhaust. It will last you a very long time and it gets 34 mpg highway and 26 mpg city. I prefer the coupe over the sedam. the V-6 is powerful.

Q: 2006 Honda Accord EX Sedan. Does this car have auto locking locks???
Just purchased a 2006 honda accord ex sedan. as mentioned in MY PREVIOUS question i was sold an additional alarm for my vehicle after the business manager lied to me and told me that it didnt come with a factory alarm, which it did. i am happy to report that i went back and complained, and finally they agreed with me and removed the alarm and refund me the money. the question i have has to do with whether or not this vehicle has auto locking locks when u start the car and auto unlock when u shut it down. it was doing this before i removed the SECOND alarm, but since i had it removed it doesnt do it anymore. just wanted to know what the car is SUPPOSED to do. thanx for any answers.....

A: Actually, the 2006 accords do not have automatic locks from the factory. not the ex, not any of them. since you're saying that you had this feature when the additional alarm was installed, that means it was a feature of that specific alarm. only the civics and ridgelines have auto locks.

Q: 2006 Honda Accord EX Sedan Power Steering Leak?
Hello. I have a 2006 Honda Accord EX Sedan. I take it every 3000 miles or so (or when there is service alert on dashboard) for an oil change to the place where I purchased it from. (Norm Reeves Honda). Last time I went for an oil change, the inspection report states that there is a power steering fluid leak and needs further inspection. I called and inquired about it and the serviceman says it might be the hose but not 100% sure. I did some googling and found something called LUCAS POWER STEERING STOP LEAK. Can I use this? Your comments/advices/information are all appreciated. Thank you.

A: don't use it! many of those products include brake fluid to cause the seals in the system to swell. the additives are not approved by Honda as they can cause damage to the pump or steering gear and valves. its better to have the leak diagnosed and repaired. as the people at norm reeves to add the dye that they use to diagnose air conditioning systems to your power steering fluid. they can add that to the oil then use an ultraviolet light to see exactly where the leak is coming from and repair it. The dye costs about $7.00 they shouldn't charge you to put it in as all you have to do is open the cap on the power steering pump reservoir to add it. Then drive the car for about a week or so and stop by to have them shine the light on it and see where the leak is coming from. that item may still be under warranty if the car is under 3 years or 36,000 miles. take it back to the dealer and ask to have the dye put in and do it right. i don't know what Norm Reeves you went to but if you went to HB ask for Dave T.--he's the service manager and he'll take care of you. At Cerritos the manager is Mike M. or Harold W. If you're going to West Covina, see Mike R. Same deal, just explain to them you are not satisfied with the "we cant find where its leaking from" answer and ask them to put the dye in. I'm pretty sure they won't charge you for it if you talk to them first. hope that helps

Q: Anyone that has a 2006 Honda Accord EX please answer?
The salesperson told me that i could control my windows with my key but i cant figure out how to do it.

A: Actually you are supposed to hit you unlock button two times and on the third time hold till the windows go done. To put the windows up put the key in the door and lock and hold till windows go up. Great sales person maybe he should have shown you rather than told? ---JameyT Honda Sales

Q: 2004 Acura TL or 2006 Honda Accord EX-L? Which one would you buy?
Which one of these cars is more reliable and a better buy in the long run? They both look great, but both of them have been in 1 accident according to Carfax. I'll definitely have a mechanic look over the car before buying though. 2004 Acura TL - 99,747 miles - $11,881 2006 Honda Accord EX coupe with leather - 64,529 miles - $13,991 Please let me know what you think ASAP! I'm going to the dealership tomorrow to check them out. Thanks!

A: I wud buy the accord. jus cuz of its lower miles..but tats jus me. both r reliable cars, but if ur lookin for a car u intend to drive 4 a long time, the accord is best i think. =]

Q: Is there a after market strut or shock to make 2006 Honda Accord a smoother ride?
2006 Honda Accord EX has rough ride. Any after market struts or shocks which would make this a better ride? Would it be worth the effort for a small compact car? I have Goodyear Assurance P205/60R16 tires on the car. These could also be contributing to the problem?

A: Monroe "Sensa-Trac" Quick struts worked for me,front and rear. They come with new springs, isolaters and bushings completely assembled ready to bolt up.Your car is only 3 yrs old,I believe the EX model comes with a more performance orientated suspension than the LX or DX.The Goodyear "Assurance"is a premium top-of-the-line tire. You may want to check into Michelin "Pilot"series tires. After a Web search at NAPA,Rockauto and Monroe I was not able to find "Quickstruts" for your vehicle. However the replacement Cartridges are a available through Monroe and KYB.Good Luck

Q: Would you buy this used car if it's been in an accident? 2006 Honda Accord EX-L coupe?
I'm going to the Honda dealership this weekend to check out this car. It's a 2006 Honda Accord EX coupe with leather seats, and it's priced at $13,994. According to the salesman, it's only had 1 previous owner and locally owned, which is great, BUT the Carfax report shows it's been in 1 accident. It didn't say on the report how bad the damage was, so I had the salesman get an accident report. Anyway he told me that the accident was to the front left bumper. The police estimate on the report is $1000. Does this sound major? The dealership is willing to let me have the car checked out by an independent mechanic. Do you think it's still a decent buy for the price? Please let me know what you think. Thanks!

A: Don't buy any car that has been in an accident, there selling it because it has something wrong with it, don't you see. But 2006 Honda Accords Aren't bad though just keep looking till you find another one because they aren't rare, just keep looking. Advice it may be a little more expensive but if you can get it from a dealership.

Q: what are best brakes and rotors to buy for 2006 Honda Accord EX 4 cyl auto 2.4 eng without going to dealer?
I would like good quality because I use car so much but can't afford to bring to dealer so friend said he would do job for me if I get parts

A: I have always had really good luck with using Duralast parts from AutoZone. They are a little more expensive than the Valucraft parts also sold at AutoZone, but in my opinion are much better. If you are buying rotors, I would go with Duralast. If you are buying brake pads, I would go with Duralast Gold pads. They are made of a great quality material, and have very, very minimal brake dust. Hope this helps you!

Q: Honda Accord - 2006 EX V4 (Power Steering fluid flush)?
I have a Honda accord 2006 EX V4 model car with a mileage of 58K. When I gave for a oil change at MIDAS, they have checked the power steering fluid and said that it's kind of dirty and need to be replaced. 1) Do I need to flush power steering fluid at 58K? 2) Can we just do Drain and Refill of power steering fluid? 3) What schedule does Honda recommend for power steering fluid replavement?

A: just say "no" to the flush. it is essentially an unnecessary service. the flush is just a drain and refill with the addition of some 'additive' that doesn't do anything more than the regular Honda fluid does. One big problem with the aftermarket flush is they don't use the Honda power steering fluid; they use a generic one type works for all fluid. if the honda fluid isn't used it can cause the seals to leak. honda doesn't have an interval for changing the fluid. power steering fluid discolors from heat as any normal hydraulic fluid will. you can't use color as an indication of fluid that needs to be changed. you can feel for grit but you won't find any in that fluid. the only time you might consider a flush is if the car is old and the power steering pump is noisy or if you feel the steering become heavy or binding from sticking valves. You'll need to get to at least 10 years before you might hear or feel something different with the steering that a flush might help with. you can change it yourself by draining the reservoir using a turkey baster and refilling it, running the engine to cycle the fluid through and then doing it again. that will get most of the fluid out. doing it with non-Honda fluid is asking for problems. If you're a stickler for service, you might want to do it every 100k or so but there really isn't any maintenance need to do so. hope that helps
